1941 1979
I understand this wasn't well-received when it was first released, nor indeed is it particularly well-received now, but I had a tremendous time. It's a great farce, the cast is star-studded, the action is exciting, and I laughed out loud several times. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but what the hell is? And it's Spielberg, so of course it's exceptionally well-made for what it is. Just getting to see Christopher Lee, Toshirô Mifune and Slim Pickens in the same frame together is worth the price of admission - I think my brain melted.

Mame 1974
What a heckin' stinker. Not even fun bad. This is my first exposure to Mame (I knew the title song and the one about Christmas, but otherwise I'd never seen it) and it is not a good introduction. Don't get me wrong, I love Lucy (yeah, yeah) but she is NOT a singer. A single line in one songs had to be stitched together from multiple takes because she couldn't carry the tune. Her and Bea Arthur have deeper voices…
