this film is absolutely nothing to write home about in terms of "quality cinema," but dear god do i love cole sprouse's the creature. yes, he doesn't really talk in the movie; yes, he's made into a "you smell" joke throughout the film; yes, he's just stumbling around enacting his twisted love for lisa that would strike fear into my very soul if this were real life. HOWEVER...! i don't care! cole sprouse is hot and i love watching him enact violently devotional acts of love for lisa!!!

glad to have watched the movie based on a book that precedes the show that all my queer and mentally ill friends are obsessed with <3
jokes aside though, this was a really good movie. the plot is nice, the pacing was nearly perfect, the antagonists are compelling and entertaining, i love seeing a southern girl protagonist (even if she does work for the government), and hannibal's concluding line made me laugh. not to mention, anthony hopkins ate this performance up and left no crumbs for jodie foster's metaphorical lambs.
