an incredible study into stoicism, pavlovian training and pride within characters. i love this movie, i’ve always loved this movie but i’ve just been reminded again as to exactly WHY i adore it. master oogway’s stoic wisdom instilled into master shifu was probably my first exposure to stoicism when i was just 6 years old, and what a beautiful perspective he held. the sequence of master shifu training po in kung fu and using food as his sole motivation? genius…

Howl's Moving Castle 2004
loved it even more when watching for the second time, the fact it’s 20 years old is incredible to me. watching it in a theatre at my university and having everybody applaud at the end was so beautiful 💕 glad others appreciate it so much
