  I am a huge fan of Robert Eggers and how he’s able to set such a dark and unnerving tone paired with a very convincing 1800’s setting. The first third of this film I was deeply entranced in the  anticipation of Thomas arriving at the castle and the gothic vision truly comes through. My one qualm was with the pacing of the movie, it felt as though it had no climax and the resolution was very quick and forced. Defoe’s character was a bit cliche and tacky which may have been an intentional choice but I’m not sure I loved it.

  I fucking LOVED this movie. The chemistry between Kristen Stewart & Katy M. Brian is sooo good. Both of them are so hot?!! I was imediately sucked into the plot from the start. Love the nasty visceral bodily sound effects and the ending potentially convinced me to be into macrophilia.
