This is Aftersun meets All of us Strangers. This is poetry and grief and regret and hope. This is an unexpected gem destined to be a classic. This is trying to understand your history and at the same time trying to move forward. This is forgiveness. This is fear and love displayed in a way that is beautiful and delicate. Add it to your fucking list. Repeat.

If Mr. Jingles is still alive today he’s probably pretty disappointed in us.

The Funeral 1996
This is Ferrara’s Godfather. My favorite of his by far. It has all the essential elements of a classic mob movie and the existential dread of his other films. It’s hard to portray guilt in the way he manages, a mix of stark reality and the dreamlike nostalgia he’s known for. Nothing is black and white, right and wrong: there also exists the in between. There is also gray.
