  i think maybe i just don’t like treasure island if even the muppets and tim curry can’t make it enjoyable for me. and i WANT to like it so bad. it’s a little too long, clocking in at nearly two hours, and kind of racist too with the “tribal pigs” like what’s the deal there. lol

  a pretty okay adaptation of tom sawyer, honestly not much else to say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ JTT was pretty inspired casting for the time

  i know, said the neurotypical movie man, since using the r slur once isnt enough why don’t we use it fourteen times? and also put robert downey jr in blackface but like, ~ironically~
  by the way, did you know that while this was being made, a bunch of disability activism groups saw promo materials related to “simple jack” and were like “hey this is bad”. and then the production team called in representatives from those groups for a private screening…
