  I was initially swept by a torrent of questions. What would have had to happen for California and Texas to join forces? What would push people to such acts of violence, cruelty, and destruction? 

  Then, I saw our violent lust for moments. To be the one to capture the perfect shot, catch the last words of a tyrant, to die on our own terms. Civil War breathlessly captures the brutality of our unfettered desire. Our enemies, families, friends, and even our idols are pushed aside that we may realization of our own grand designs. It is our unchecked desire that leads to our ruin.
