This movie made me very sad as a sibling of someone with severe autism.
I felt like even though the family were trying their best, they dealt with his symptoms poorly, such as the father hitting him for having a meltdown over his own mistake which would be understandably distressing for an autistic individual and the brother’s refusal to accept Charlie the way he was.
Although it’s good to bring awareness to the more unknown and hidden symptoms, I feel…
