Amélie 2001
The warm red and green colors, the beautifully composed soundtrack and the idiosyncratic characters introduced throughout Amelie are some of many aspects I love about this film. I have watched it over 10 times and cannot say that I would ever see myself get bored of it. It was perhaps the first film that really caught my attention and sparked my interest in filmmaking.

Moonrise Kingdom is a comedy with sad undertones, a love story between two adult-behaving introverted teenagers, a deconstruction of family life and its effect on children. Throughout his career, Wes Anderson has proven that the nature of his films is anything but haphazard. His staggeringly elaborate mise en scène, well-developed characters, idiosyncratic visual style and vintage soundtracks contribute to his reputation that the Houston-born director is the mastermind behind a number of highly praised films. Moonrise Kingdom's incredibly touching story however, is the only I hold dearest to my heart.
