nice film, but a bit too white savior-y.
it does remind me of Hidden Figures, as they both had everything to give - fantastic performances, amazing cast, important themes - but ultimately left us with nothing but white people being first on the call sheets.

messy and nonsensical. this movie fails to chose between being a telenovela, a poignant musical or an Oscar contending drama, and ultimately ends up feeling like you’re watching a high-school theater club play.
very underwhelming (if not plain bad) acting performances, especially considering the critical acclaim they’ve received during this award season, not to mention very poor musicality - whether it’s the songs themselves or the renditions of them.
