I’m honestly bound to rate any film I’ve written an essay on higher because I’ve given it so much deliberate thought, but this one is so rich in symbolism while still allowing the audience to be emotionally present to experience the horror. Lupita shines, but you already knew that. The child actors were fantastic as well. A fantastic follow up to Get Out, in my opinion.

Marriage Story 2019
It’s hard to tell if I’m letting how I feel about the performances cloud how I feel about the movie overall (which is easy to do with a character study I guess) but I definitely enjoyed the watch. Something somehow felt unbalanced, though I can’t place how.

The Wolf of Wall Street 2013
I don’t even hate it as much as I probably should being a woman, but it’s just so much movie. Even on your 3rd time watching it, you get like 2/3rds done and think it’s wrapping up, and there’s somehow 45 more minutes of movie. And it’s not a pacing issue, but you just feel like the cutting floor was a bit too barren somehow.

The Dark Knight 2008
I’ve watched this movie at least 4-5 times and wrote 3 papers about it my freshman year of college (not entirely by choice dw I’m not a psychopath)
