A cautious opener to an iconic trilogy, the textbook tale of Batman’s origins story is an instant classic. Although not the strongest opener, the film places many moving cogs into play for more spectacular films to come, and example being Liam Neeson’s character, although not being a traditional DC villian and in my opinion lacking the flamboyancy to be one, he serves a great foil to Bruce’s morals. The sequence of Bruce Wayne’s parents death is also very well put…
A beautiful true story about standing up for what you believe in, the horrors of war help enhance the beauty of the victory, Andrew Garfield perfectly portrays Doss, capturing his charm incredibly, I especially resonated with Doss motivation, the grief he feels for his past violence fuels his character well. The ending perfectly ties the fiction of the film to the reality of the story, amazing film.
The main character kills himself multiple times in this film, after watching, I would like to do the same. Genuinely dreadful.
The skibidi toilet of the 70s, my main hatred of this film is that it’s barely even a film, it’s a group of skits clumsy stitched together in a confusing mess. John Cleese and others do make funny jokes, epically the ufo scene in particular, but this isn’t a film so I can’t really rank it as one.
