Hitchcocks first talkie and was there for it. It’s short and wraps up in a good time. Sound is enhanced with this film during Alice’s scene where the lady at the shop keeps talking - all Alice can hear is knife. It’s very powerful and I fully felt like she had stabbed her rapist to death. There’s this constant dialogue in the movie of “it’s my word against hers” when the blackmailer comes into the story.
