I think cinema, movies, and magic have always been closely associated. The very earliest people who made film were magicians. 💙

You know, I never expect a director like Park Chan-wook would adapt a John Le Carre's work. The final result is beyond my expectation, I must say. Not to mention, it's much, much, much better than the 1984 movie version. He should adapt and direct another Le Carre's story. Meanwhile, the first two episodes was slow when introducing it's story. I think it would become a rewarding experience if you're patient enough...

Articulating itself through duplicity, this movie delivers a labor of love that dismantles the failings of male sexuality on the levels of social class. In that it delivers its subject matter with style and class by delivering us a trail of images by which we can track back the story, when it changes perspective. A story within a story within a story, this movie delivers us images in which we see the difference between sex bonded with love as opposed to sexual fetishes, by playing with the queer term of 'the closet' by showing male heterosexuality being hidden in 'the cellar.'

    His worst picture.
    See Mother instead.
    See Memories of Murder.

Can we stop with the apocalypse porn? Can we?
Children of Men 2! But with 70% more dum dum humor.

Let's take all of the budgets of zombie and apocalypse films, and actually feed people, create solar farms, avoid an apocalypse, slap Elon's ass, and fund dozens of smaller films.

This is some overcooked Wes Anderson crap and Swinton's performance is not edgy or funny, it's just unnecessary.

Starship Troopers with a budget (in a good way). Social critique is always on point but his non-korean movies, just like the recent Yorgos Lanthimos’ films, always tend to the over caricaturisation of the characters (maybe he perceives western cinema as clownish or the western audiences as dumber) but nonetheless a good and enjoyable film in my opinion, more similar to Okja and Snowpiercer than to Memories, Parasites etc, but like I said his Korean and non-Korean filmographies should be treated as the work of two separate directors, one being more contained, the other more histrionic.
