I walked into this completely blindly and now regret that I did. I liked the idea behind the movie, but the execution didn't convince me, nor did it convey the emotions that it wanted to convey. The first half felt like an edit of well-produced commercials at Christmas time: the nuclear family in the living room, a few generations, a glimpse into different lives but somewhat superficial as "People in different situations". The second half got more depth in my opinion, but couldn't make up for the feeling of supermarket, life insurance and credit company commercials in the first half.

Elderly guy with special dietary restrictions looking for love with a questionable age gap.

Why the hell did I watch this alone?

This film is about a sadomasochistic workplace relationship, but to be honest, watching it to the end is the most masochistic thing associated with this film.

A story about a mentally unstable woman being manipulated into an S/M relationship by her boss is potentially worth telling. However, this feels like a bad romanticisation of it; manipulating her into submission as a freeing character development? I don't know. It might have been a better film if their S/M relationship wasn't tied to mental illness and more to actual consent.

It was very funny that he was called Mr Grey. Did that also inspire E.L. James' fanfiction?
