  I take back all the mean things I’ve said about kenny b’s poirot, this was some good spooky fun! moody & atmospheric, quite different from the source material (agatha christie’s the halloween party) in an acceptable way this time. I forgot that KB’s a great director when he wakes up on the right side of the bed and isn’t surrounded by yes-men. kelly reilly is just fabulous. michelle yeoh is a scene stealer as always. turns out jamie dornan is pretty great when he’s not putting all his energy into sounding american. he & that unsettling little boy should play father & son in all future branagh projects.

  god forbid women do anything. 
  I don’t have serious thoughts yet. feels novelistic, closest thing I’ve seen to a modern kubrick film, but also i was rooting for her the entire time and only at the very end did i realize i probably wasn’t “supposed” to feel that way.
