I know I can always count on Sean Baker to provide insight on the sex work industry and humanize sex workers iktr! Most of the dialogue between Anora and Vanya's goons had such a natural flow that I believe it must've been improvised. I've never seen such a unique show more than this one. I read a bit of the book before but never finished; however, after watching this, I definitely want to revisit and compare. I think this show really elevates the book to a whole 'nother level. The way that it's structured as if we're on set, watching these characters face challenges that quite literally excludes them from places that they don't "belong" in and having to navigate or overcome them…
