  I could enumerate its imperfections but regardless, this movie will be bouncing around my psyche for awhile. Helena Howard was a fucking REVELATION, Barbara Stanwyck-level star power. And the editing reminded me of Cassavetes.

  Some really touching scenes and some gorgeous cinematography. I had a lot of questions about why there wasn’t any historic interrogation of the relationship between Japan and Korea. It felt a little sanitized (and never went into the real economic realities of the 80-something year-old women who were maintaining this tradition).
