Very effective atmospheric horrror. There is unending sense of dread permeated throughout, in part due to the visuals & a very unsettling score. In addition to that, the dreariness of the surrounding area certainly adds to it, making it a very uninviting place.
Sean Harris is phenomenal while playing the most melancholic charachter I think I've ever come across in Philip, a person who's cetainly been through some trauma. Ably opposite him is Alun Armstrong who plays his crotchety uncle Maurice.
Overall while it's a rather slow-moving film, it's still very worthwhile to check out, especially if your'e a fan of the horror genre.
