man this film and it’s production is absolutely bonkers. love me an obsessive and determined artist who dedicates his LIFE to the movies. obsessed with the parallels between cpt. willard and coppola himself!!!!! always a sucker for a crazy, dramatic backstory to how a film has been made.

The Holdovers 2023
giving this film 5 stars doesn’t even do it justice. hands down, my top film of the year. when you thought it couldn’t get more fun, it did. when you thought it couldn’t get more emotional, it did. when you thought it couldn’t get more human, it did. character development at it’s finest. the actors ATE. witty humour. honestly, i don’t remember ever watching a film that’s this entertaining and wholesome while at the same time being so devastatingly sad. this is for sure going to be a holiday season staple for me.
