Can you believe I'd never watched this before? And yeah, I get the hype.

Man I miss when action movies were just Some Guy and he's kinda getting his ass kicked half the time. Now it's just The Rock who demands in his contract that he doesn't take more hits than the bad guy.

The 80's didn't always do it better, but this movie definitely did.

Finally got around to watching this. Yeah it's good, obviously.

Director's name is Bong though. That's kinda funny.

The best part of this movie is how at the end the main character's grand plan starts with 'Make a lot of money'. They didn't actually need the whole allegory for capitalism, that line is satire enough.

This is the worst critically-acclaimed movie I have ever seen. This came out at the peak of the 'Realism is king' era and was the most realism-y of them all!

By that I mean just like real life it's a meandering mess and nothing really cinema-worthy happens.

Linklater is a fucking retard who has forgotten that the point of watching movies isn't to watch real life, it's to watch a heightened and dramatised version of real life. If I wanted…

There's a really weird trope in media where a character with an Office Job goes to the Big Meeting and if they nail their presentation they get a promotion but if they flub it they get fired.

I have never in all my jobs seen someone get fired after their Failed Presentation at the Big Meeting.

This trope exists because people who work in movies have worked in movies and not in office jobs.

This movie is the exception. This is exactly what work is like. I almost hated it because it reminded me of working at my job.

    It's brilliant.
