The Substance 2024
The beginning was pretty good. The noises, the way it was filmed… really built up the tension in the right away, and at least it was a tad more subtle
But the last half of the movie honestly ruined it all. So grotesque and exaggerated which takes away the effect of getting the movies message across. The message is also pretty shallow and honestly barely addresses the problems it claims to.
I would put 3 for the first half of the movie but honestly the second half made me leave off with a bitter opinion of it.

Ethan hawke kinda made me cringe most of the time tbh. I only really started finding it cute after the scene where they act like they are calling their friends. Before that it was just so awkward but idk maybe that’s just me. The ending was rlly cute though
