  Been a while since I updated on letterbox, haven’t done any first time watches in a while but here we are.

  I loved this film, it’s a fascinating interpretation of girlhood and growing up.  Visually, the film is beautiful- I loved all the stop motion bits and how it helped to tell the story.   Okay I’ve never seen this film before but was aware of the synopsis, as it is well-known.

  It is so good. I think everyone should see this film at some point in their life. I think it will affect everyone in a different way because you can treat the story as an allegory for confronting fear.

  My expectations for this film were minimal to be honest. I didn’t know that much about the musical but watched it nonetheless due to a friend urging me to and also because it is always fresh to see positive lgbt+ representation in film - you’d think by this day and age it shouldn’t be a rarity but alas it is.
