  This movie is very indulgent to watch, retired wealthy prostitutes with time on their hands to fall in love... I mean, I love that premise. Hadn’t watched Michelle Pfeiffer in anything since Batman, so was struck by her hypnotizing beauty anew in this.   The Bardem casting is truly fd up; Nicole Kidman is fantastic. Seems like this storyline would be more interesting as a tv show, allowing more space to explore the interesting topics and relationships this only touches on. Watching this felt like a weird salad of discomfort. I wonder what kind of impact Lucy and Desi’s kids being producers of the film had on the final product.
