    If there’s a possible Venn diagram overlap between Matthew Barney’s “River of Fundament”, Joel Schumacher’s “Batman Forever”, the 1993 game “SimCity 2000”, and the gelatinous-blob-laden soda Orbitz — the resulting intersection is MEGALOPOLIS.

    Is it good? Is it bad? Is it ambitious or audacious? I neither know nor care. It exists, and I will always love and applaud this level of brazen, bombastic, shameless swinging-for-the-fences, whether from new directors or seasoned veterans like Coppola (or aliens like Neil Breen).

    “M. Bison in the spaceship with the shillelagh” isn’t the Clue-villain I expected of Rebel Moon's main antagonist — but, I’ll take it.

    Color me shocked, surprised, and impressed — I loved REBEL MOON. A big part of that is surely tinted by having access to its 70mm version in the glorious Cinema 1 at Toronto’s TIFF Lightbox.
