Super solid movie. The writing was great and some powerful use of scenery. It beat out Citizen Kane and Little Foxes for most of the awards but my least favorite out of those three. It also made me realize how color evolved John Ford films in new directions.

The Godfather 1972
Always love rewatching the Godfather and noticing new things and film techniques. This time I really noticed how they created the growing distance between Kay and Michael plus more oranges.

Citizen Kane 1941
Rewatched Citizen Kane for the first time in several years, although last time it was on VHS. I appreciated Orson Welles more in the rewatch for not only the acting but also the story, cinematography, and ambience. It’s a simple but complex story.
