i have a lot of qualms with this (the writing of Veda in particular) but like why does Lottie talk like that. i get that she's a racist stock character of the doting Black maid, but why does she talk like a baby. was that a racist thing from back in the day or did this movie just make a weird creative decision.

nonconsentually watched this in the mental hospital as a child and it, like many other things in the hospital, did not make me any less suicidal. in fact it put me, and I imagine every patient there, in even more danger. this may very well be the real world Ringu cursed video tape that ends your life in seven days. avoid at all costs or pay the ultimate price.
