a lot of things work and some things don't (for me).
what does work: modern retellings of hamlet because the main plot points' themes are easily transferable to various settings: thus, it doesn't seem out of place to display security cameras rather than patrolmen in the snow, nor to replace a knife with a gun. it's less about the setting and more the characters, and for this reason I can also appreciate the minimalistic set: I think it works well…
