upon rewatching, less shocked by the body-horror, I get it now.
she only interacts with men, she exists only within their gaze in this surrealist-hellscape. the male gaze is all that sustains her and so ultimately is her demise.the stabiliser isn’t infinite, all women lose their patriarchal value eventually. we are horrified watching her desperately trying to escape the inevitable.
