  kieran culkin’s character is half insufferable half endearing… but despite his quirks and me spending the first half of the movie feeling irritated, it made me reflect on how cousin relationships are some of the most unique and special kinds that we have. some of our only social opportunities to interact and have intimate relationships to people who have vastly different lifestyles. and my late cousin, who was very unlike this character, was in the back of my mind the whole time. i wish we could have gone to ghana together before he died a few years ago ❤️‍🩹
