Watching Metropolis feels like watching a wondrous and almost disconnected futuristic vision.
It's now out-dated, art-deco architectural scenarios, rapid movements so typical of silent cinema, the once celebrated beauty of women with eerie black-rimmed, round eyes, gives off the more than a century old origins of it. Nonetheless, it's future display is a visual bible for everything that came afterwards. You can almost see Asimov and Philip K. Dick in ecstasy after watching it.
