This docu is beyond impressive, letting an abundance of historical recordings and sources talk for themselves. While the storyline is sometimes told rather rapidly, this Soundtrack to A Coup d’état is a piece of art.

Conclave 2024
Edward Berger stays true to his signature use of music to carry the suspense in this film. It articulates clear echo's from the sound as deployed in his work All Quiet On the Western Front. While the build-up was rather slow in the beginning, the storyline gets chased up in the second half of the movie. Overall a nice watch, although the plot in the end misses its potential effect. I moreover expected it to be more suspensful in it's recognition as a thriller. I am, therefore, not sure whether I agree with the gripping effect of the movie as described by others.
