Schindler's List 1993
It’s almost impossible to view this without a tinge of sadness for present day politics and how history can repeat in non-uniform directions. A beautiful film of utter brutality and the humanity that can bleed through pure evil.

The Banshees of Inisherin 2022
One of if not the most profoundly sad films I’ve ever seen. It is also one of the most beautiful places captured in film. Glad I could watch it in theaters but I don’t think I will revisit this one in a while because it wrecked me.
