Beautiful! Gripping! Just really different from the book which is fine because one can only fit so much of a 1300 page book into a 3 hour movie. I just was missing a lot of very satisfying plot points and some beloved characters like Valentine, Monsieur Noirtier, and Maximilien! But alas. It’s still excellent and such a treat to watch.
Most importantly read the book.
