Masterful opening shot and breathtaking landscapes and textures. The low angle shots and wide, claustrophobic images loom over you, weighing heavy on your heart as Brady Corbet's epic explores Jewish heritage, immigration, repression, poverty, racism and of course the cruel hand of American capitalism. A lot going on here but I really wanted these things to breathe more, lots of beautiful imagery but it moved at surprisingly light speed (at least to me) despite its 3 1/2 runtime. Second half…
