the subsection of horror that affects me the most by far is that which explores horror emerging from the self as opposed to horror that attacks the self. films like this unsettle and stick with me for years largely i think because i see the worst parts of myself, the parts i do my best to suppress and ignore brought to an uninhibited zenith. in this film - the macabre curiosity that i think (hope?) is a universal experience, in stop motion…
