Malignant 2021
Just absolutely terrible. It’s as if James Wan took the crumpled up pages that he hated for the final draft of Insidious and The Conjuring from the back drawer of his desk, drank a fifth of tequila, and then drunkenly threw a dartboard on a map of LA to local improv clubs and cast the rejects for that night’s show to act in this absolute pipe bomb of a movie.

The Power 2021
Beautifully stylized, horribly organized. A gorgeous film tackling important subject matter that absolutely falls flat on its face when it comes to execution and scares. I’m not a fan of over explanation in horror movies, but the lack of direction for the majority of the runtime made this frustrating to watch. Also, everyone in this movie is an asshole (yes, even you, Saba)
Side note; if Babs was a nurse in real life today, she would absolutely be the type to go into nursing after being the worst bully in her high school, constantly making Facebook posts about her “hubby” interspersed with COVID denying infographics.
