I wanted to like this movie, but 2hrs of Anora being manhandled, yelled at, disregarded, and belittled just wasn't enjoyable or compelling. And I don't understand people's infatuation with Igor. He was just a guy who managed to be somewhat nice to a pretty woman he wanted to fuck. It was disappointing to watch over 2hrs of film and not learn anything more about Anora than when the movie began, which is a shame because Mickey's acting was great, but her character extremely underdeveloped. I know this director gets praised for centering marginalized people in his movies, but it all just feels very shallow and voyeuristic.
