★★★★½ Rewatched

I like it at least a much on the rewatch , and I know people shit on the writing - and thats fine I guess - but the movie runs really well despite that - it is just very good sports escapism with great acting where it is needed and cool visuals and that is exactly what I live for right now

This is one of those blocking masterpieces further refined by the use of on location shooting over sets.
The story is enough, the acting pretty good, but thats all besides the point. This is a prime example of italian neo realism that mostly captivates through the visual channel

Out of Love for the Movies!
i could write about 189 minutes whyBabylon is truly unique and propably the most memorable of the pretty memorable year 2022, but let's leave it at that.

there are one and a half things I want to point out on the less positive side of things: for one the puke-piss-shit-jokes kind of blind-sided me in this one and seemed a little infantile at some point. And secondly the plotline linkes to Toby Mcguires character…

This is everything but a crime saga like the godfather or a nitty gritty reality loaded Martin Scorsese MAfi flick - instead this is, apart from the random movie that had Marlon Brando be pursued by Matthew Broderick, the only crime comedy movie mafia-adjecent I have ver seen, and I liked it- the plot has enough drive even though there is little new elements in this but seeing Eric Roberts and Mickey Rourke hustle their way through life together does certainly have a lot of appeal.
Its a beautiful little movie, carried on the shoulders of those two wonderful performances - definitely worth a watch
