This film isn't perfect by any means, but damn, its exactly what I would have needed as a teen. A lot of people seem to think Lucy should have been the main character because she has the natural confidence of a main character, but quiet people deserve to have a voice too. Being more of a Vivian myself (an introvert with low self esteem who spent all of school keeping her head down and trying to blend into the crowd)…

In this documentary John provides a very interesting but very biased perception of his life where he talks about his career alongside his personal life and how the two intertwined. He absurdly finds ways to easily justify and brush-off his philandering and controversial behaviour; there's clearly a much deeper and darker side to his story that he chose not to share.

From a historical fashion point of view I loved watching the evolution of clothing and seeing a glimpse of the industry through the decades.

Nic reads his writing out towards the end of the credits, worth hearing them.
