Imagery in "Pulse" (by director Kiyoshi Kurosawa and cinematographer Jun'ichirô Hayashi) is understated, shrouded in obscure gloom, and slow-moving. Paddy Chayefsky sure can write a stirring monologue. The political overtones of this film are compelling, expertly interwoven with the A & B plots, and ultimately convincing. The unified decry swept me up, stirring an emotional reaction at points. I am "mad as hell , and I can't take it anymore", either. The performances from the cast are all class.
