  i think the screenplay is in this constant sinusoidal oscillation between actually pretty good & ai-generated-emotionless-and-angsty-teenage-wasteland terrible, which lowk might be justified as tonal choice--because of course you can't write any good script about technological revolution without references to "now i have become death" and the turing test!

  prompter and straighter to the point than perhaps any other film i’ve ever seen—one needs not travel far to uncover the central conceit of this surface-level melodrama;

  they don’t have to slog through the film’s domestic-wet-dream affairs or smooches or this-es-or-thats (of which there are quite a lot!), pitch their stilts through a swamp of nuanced conversational bits, or—god forbid—even bootstrap through the imdb-trivia-section for deeper meanings—

  no, no, no! none of those will do here!
