Just watched “Nosferatu” (2024) by Robert Eggers, and it’s incredible. I also made the right move reading Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” earlier this year. This film is painterly, with every shot begging to be savored. Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgård deliver raw, animalistic performances that braid elements of both revulsion and beauty. Alien: Romulus 2024
I am deeply satisfied with this film. Is it a masterpiece? No, it’s not. But is it a well-made movie? Absolutely. Sure, there are some writing choices and little nostalgia winks that I could nitpick, but if you’re going to include those elements, this film does it in the most efficient and clean way possible. It takes elements from all the other Alien films and blends them into a delicious recipe for a new installment.

Godzilla 2014
looks awesome. Boring as hell though, and I thought it was a bit cheap to really sell a lot of this film on Brian Cranston (thanks to "Breaking Bad") where he's hardly even in the movie. Maybe the next one will be more interesting because this one established the old style Godzilla stuff in this modern setting but I'm not so sure.
