Why Beauty Matters 2009
notice how all the architecture Scruton discusses as ugly is clearly in lower-income areas? Notice how he seems entirely unaware of what modern art is as anything other than "ugly trash"? notice how he seems to admire impressionism- something that was seen as "ugly" when it was coming around? What was ugly yesterday isn't ugly today- so why should modern art be any different? These are all wildly unrelated, but by god do i hate this man's thoughts on art. One star for being decently put together, even if the film itself is incredibly one-sided.
