There's alot to say about the motion picture. I think it often gets dismissed as a 2001 rip off, a film which it was most certainly influenced by. However I think the motion picture has a lot more meat to it than that.

Robo kaiju eye candy. Does a great job of being just as cheesy as classic kaiju flicks, which honestly is why I love them, but then take that and add a dollop of Del Toro and an incredible vfx team and you've got a top tier Hollywood kaiju film.
I have a huge personal bias to this movie as it was one of my formative films. However, I still think it's the perfect blockbuster.
