  i like how Clint Eastwood didn’t take the easy way and glorify his service to a heavenly degree. the mental effect on him as well as his family was necessary and important to portray, however I feel that it could’ve shown more in depth emotional scenes with Kyle to tie us to his character more. They also do the classic “this guy is talking about his future and how excited he is for it to set up his imminent death soon thereafter” which is played out, but it wasn’t too forced in this one. A crushing ending as well.

  this may be my favorite movie ever. its weird to prescribe the word “realistic” to a movie with aliens in it, but this is the perfect blend of fake and real life- a mix that is rarely done right. The concept of repeating the day makes for some incredibly satisfying moments of prediction. Portrays the cycle of despair very well. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I’ve seen it 2 times before. Unique concept paired with great actors and beautiful CGI makes this in my top 3.

  Incredibly disappointed with the handling of the concept. Thought it didn’t take itself seriously enough, comedic aspect was unentertaining except for Mark Ruffalo. Great performance by Patterson though. Just was bored and uninvested the whole time.
