    Snow White

    ★½

SNOW WHITE is a constantly baffling and lifeless remake. The elements that made the original special are virtually non-existent here. The story is bigger and throws in so much extra fluff that greatly detracts from Snow White's central story. It's glaringly apparent that this story evolved and changed with reshoots, and most of it felt for the worse. The storylines clash frequently, the relationship element is ridiculous, and lacks any sort of soul, feeling like just another hollow, big budget…

The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie

    ★★★

THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP: A LOONEY TUNES MOVIE is a surprisingly fun adventure. While the absence of other Looney Tunes characters is felt, Daffy and Porky do make for an enjoyable duo. The story is simple and moves at a quick pace, while including plenty of humor for adults and kids. The 2D animation is vibrant and feels a bit like a throwback as well.

DUNE: PART TWO is incredible. Picking up right after Part One, this film wastes no time expanding its characters, story, and world in a gripping and satisfying way. The visuals are jaw dropping and the performances are excellent. This is a must see on the biggest screen possible.

    Smile 2

    ★★★½

SMILE 2 is bigger, meaner, and scarier than its predecessor. Parker Finn's confident direction brings a new level of fear into this sequel. His use of tension, and clever jump scares only heighten the terror within this film. At the center of this psychological nightmare is an outstanding performance from Naomi Scott, who gives one of the best performances of the year. The sound design and clever editing really draw you in and make you question what's real and what isn't. This is one that'll stay in your head after the credits roll, and as you turn off the lights at night.
