  Finally got around to rewatching what I think was one of the most under-appreciated movies of 2019. Easily one of the saddest movies I’ve ever seen but still manages to make me laugh a bunch. I think Ray Romano’s performance holds up upon second viewing as well. I never would’ve expected a role like this from him after watching Everybody Loves Raymond as a kid, but he definitely pulled it off.

  Swiss Army Man 2016

  Got the urge to rewatch this after Everything Everywhere and it’s absolutely still one of my favorites. I feel extremely connected to Swiss Army Man on a ton of levels but I appreciate how open to interpretation it remains. I’ve heard so many different messages/meanings that people have pulled from it and each one just makes the movie even better to me.

  No one makes action like Timo Tjahjanto!

  The style oozes out of every scene and, especially in this movie, his background in horror is always apparent. Super exciting action scenes, beautiful shots, strong performances from the lead actors, etc. The story in this had more depth than Timo’s other movies, which was nice, but it didn’t hold my attention as well. Really the only clear downside of my experience with this movie.

  I’ve really liked the casting of Galadriel and Elrond so far. The actor who plays Elrond has done an especially good job at matching the inflection of Hugo Weaving’s interpretation.
