I started off low key annoyed with her but then she grew on me. I guess everyone wants a masked skeletal man to breathe on em once in a while.

The Buildout 2023
A slow burn into madness. I think so many of the shots and lighting capture the allure and otherworldiness of the Southern California desert perfectly. I was really captivated by the dynamic and chemistry of the two leads and appreciate a compelling story with a side of lingering eeriness.

Everything was purposeful, from the set design to the costuming and audio. When all I could hear was timothee’s breathing when summoning the worm or when he was battling Austin butler, I felt in the moment. So many shots looked like surreal paintings but the first scene with the Harkonnens floating up was perfect. The attention to detail was unreal and I think that’s one of the biggest keys to selling sci-fi, the audience has to know that there’s a use to things just like the fans that are seen in the Harkonnens uniforms.
