As someone who went into this film with absolute minimal background of this story, it was a fun watch and the music was great but the story was too fast at times. there were a lot of moments where it was clear I was missing vital information but it was a great way to spend an evening. Plus love to celebrate Jonathan Larson.

the characters aren’t fully fleshed out with the speed of the story but damn each song is a hit and Zendaya can do no wrong. Every time she’s on camera, I don’t care what else is happening. I’m locked in lol. However, the best part of the entire film is the little girl dressed up as a tree in the final ballet scene. Peak cinema.
